Honda CR-Z does not need to be charged from an external power source because it is a self-charging hybrid. The IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) hybrid battery charges automatically through the combustion engine and regenerative braking as you drive. You can monitor its charge level on the dashboard's battery gauge.
How the battery charges
Internal combustion engine: The gas engine works in tandem with the electric motor to charge the battery while the car is running.
Regenerative braking: When you slow down or brake, the car's system captures and converts the kinetic energy into electrical energy to recharge the battery.
