Limited Edition Nissan S-Cargo (1989–1991) is a retro-styled small commercial van, part of Nissan's "Pike Factory" series, with roughly 8,000–12,000 units produced. Inspired by the Citroën 2CV and mimicking a snail ("escargot"), it features a 1.5L I4 engine, 3-speed automatic, and, unusual for a van, a 2-person capacity with a single-spoke steering wheel.
Key Features and Design
Design & Name: The name is a pun combining "Small Cargo" and "escargot" (French for snail). Its design is heavily inspired by the Citroën 2CV Fourgonnette delivery van.
Pike Factory: It is one of four specialized "Pike" cars produced by Nissan along with the Be-1, Pao, and Figaro, which aimed for retro design sensibilities.
Interior: Features a, minimalistic, table-like dashboard, a central gauge cluster, and this one is fitted with an optional electric canvas roof.
Versatility: Popular as a small delivery vehicle or mobile advertisement, with huge, flat sides ideal for company graphics.
